SIBU: The public should take the opportunity to attend a two-day Housing Tribunal Roadshow at Wisma Sanyan to learn about their rights as homebuyers.

The event, organised by the Ministry of Public Health, Housing and Local Government (MPHLG) will be held on Friday (Aug 2) and Saturday (Aug 3).

Deputy Minister for Public Health and Housing Datuk Michael Tiang Ming Tee is expected to officiate at the event on Saturday.

“The roadshow will focus on the rights as a homebuyer, methods and procedures for filing cases to the Tribunal for Homebuyers’ Claims Sarawak and the Strata Management Tribunal and other matters related to house purchase.

“Apart from that, there will also be talks on the establishment of the Joint Management Body (JMB) and Management Committee (MC), and ownership of private and public affordable houses,” the ministry said in a statement.

Mini booths will be set up throughout the roadshow, offering visitors, especially housebuyers in and around the Sibu area, the chance to seek advice directly from the ministry’s staff and housing agencies.
Among the government agencies that will participate in this roadshow are the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) and Mutiara Mortgage and Credit Sdn Bhd.
